π½ Colorado Farm Trail
A free, independent map for finding local food across Colorado β who we are, and the story of the data behind it.
Colorado Farm Trail is a free, independent map that helps you find local farms, farmers' markets, U-picks, roadside stands and wineries across Colorado β all in one place, right on your phone.
This is our project β an independent community effort, built by folks who love Colorado's growers and wanted an easier way to find them. We're on a mission to connect people with the local food grown around them, and just as much, to build and maintain the most up-to-date database of Colorado growers there is. The two go hand in hand: the better the data, the easier the find β and the more of your grocery budget lands in the hands of the growers in your own community.
Colorado Farm Trail started from the Colorado Proud Farm Fresh Directory β the public list of farms and markets published by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. That gave the map its foundation: hundreds of Colorado farms, markets, U-picks and stands to build around on day one.
From there, we grow on our own. We independently collect, verify and maintain our own listings β correcting details, keeping hours and seasons current, and weaving in new sources as we go. Here's where things stand:
That second one is where you come in. If you run a farm, market or stand, we'd love to have you on the map β add or update your listing right here, and we'll review it and get your pin up:

Getting listed in the official Colorado Proud directory β is worth doing too β it's a valuable resource in its own right, and listings there feed into this map as well.
Colorado Farm Trail wouldn't exist without the Colorado Proud Farm Fresh Directory, published by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. It gave this project its starting foundation β hundreds of Colorado farms, markets, U-picks and stands to build a map around on day one.
The directory isn't a one-time list β it's a genuinely robust, community-driven effort that happens every year. Growers submit and update their listings, and the Colorado Proud team gathers, verifies and maintains hundreds of listings across all ~36 counties, keeping it current as the season grows. That yearly legwork is the reason a project like this could launch at all. We're grateful for it.
